Ideally positioned in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs, the new Kinship Landing boutique hotel is part urban oasis, part indoor glamping experience. Quirky layouts include bunk rooms for solo adventure travelers, suites with deep-soaking tubs, balconies and views of the Colorado Rocky Mountains and junior suites offering optional upgrades for including your four-legged traveling companion. Rooms are fitted with custom-built wooden furniture created by local craftsmen.

Mattresses by Tuft & Needle, sheets and towels by Brooklinen, 50-inch smart televisions, mini-fridges, electric tea kettles and microwaves make for perfect active getaways. For on-site dining, there’s Homa at Kinship Landing, an all-day, locally sourced craft café and bar headed up by Chef Jay Gust. Order from a menu with dishes including hearty sandwiches, comfort snacks and sweet finishes. Choose from the selection of bowls or “handpies,” which include The Wild, made with venison, onions and cheese; or Josh’s Apple Handpie, made — according to the menu — with a blend of apples, cinnamon and love.

There’s also a spirits menu featuring wines, whiskies, tequilas, rums, gins, vodkas and cordials. Try a specialty cocktail such as the Drunken Botanist, Silent Lucidity or a Twisted & Fermented, which features Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Juneshine Acai Hard Kombucha, lemon, soda water and sage.

Next, settle into one of the intimate booths or a solo or community table in the sunny Greenhaus Space. The space also offers spots in the fireside lounge or on one of the two outdoor patios.

Prefer your own space? Take your meal to go and head back to your room. Rest up — the hotel’s location allows for easy access to the Pikes Peak Region and the historic towns of Old Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. A host of nearby activities and sites include The Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, The Royal Gorge Bridge and Railroad and the Cave of the Winds Mountain Park.
