Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection announced a new line of travel insurance specifically created for adventure travelers. AdrenalineCare comes with added baggage protection, higher medical limits and coverage for extreme activities.

According to the brand’s annual state of travel insurance report, adventure travelers take about one more trip per year than regular road trippers, and the trips often include high-intensity sports or some expensive outdoor equipment (like skis).

Among other benefits, coverage includes:

  • Up to $750,000 in medical evacuation coverage
  • Up to $50,000 in emergency travel medical insurance
  • Up to $500 in equipment delay coverage for delays of six hours or more
  • Up to $1,500 in baggage coverage for lost, stolen or damaged luggage
  • $150 fixed benefit for inconvenience of baggage delays of 12 or more hours
  • $200 reimbursement for hunting and fishing license fees if a trip is canceled

“Our annual State of Travel Insurance study found that adventure travel continues to be one of the most popular and fastest-growing travel types,” said Dean Sivley, president, Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection. “Adventure travelers are eager to explore the world but also know that their adrenaline-packed trips warrant more protection. We created AdrenalineCare so they can fully enjoy their adventures without worrying about equipment delays or insufficient medical coverage if traveling in a remote location.”

The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
