Hurtigruten’s newest ship, a hybrid, just completed its sea trials in advance of its inaugural journey next April.
MS Fridtjof Nansen is Hurtigruten’s newest expedition ship. The ship was delivered early, giving explorers the chance to go on early preview sailings. The ship is the second hybrid cruise ship in the world.
“We want to share the special occasion and give more explorers the opportunity for a first-hand experience on the incredible MS Fridtjof Nansen and our unique expedition cruises,” said Daniel Skjeldam, CEO, Hurtigruten.
The ship will embark on five-night preview sailings beginning in March. Departing from London, the sailings will make stops around the British Isles.
The ship can handle 500 guests and brings them to waters typically inaccessible for cruise ships thanks to its small size. The new hybrid ships are the latest steps Hurtigruten has taken toward sustainability.
