Heading to London with plans to catch a performance of The Devil Wears Prada on stage at Dominion Theatre? Be sure to make reservations for an afternoon tea at The Bloomsbury, perfectly positioned in the theater district. The hotel partnered with Dominion in the conception of a themed afternoon tea and cocktail menu, using the show as inspiration.

Served in The Coral Room, The Runway Afternoon Tea menu features a selection of sandwiches including truffled egg mayonnaise, Nates’ grilled cheese, smoked salmon rillette sub rolls, roast chicken and parmesan mayonnaise on onion brioche, and cucumber and crème fraiche campillous. Freshly baked buttermilk and sultana scones are served with Cornish clotted cream and homemade plum jam. Highlights of the tea service are the incredible, mischievously named pastries: A Single Cube of Cheese (New York cheesecake served with Papua New Guinea vanilla), Everybody Wants This (red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting), Lemon Drizzle Madeline, No Foam Skimmed Latte with an Extra Shot (hazelnut opera cake with coffee and caramel) and Lumpy Blue Sweater (Speculoos sable and dulce de leche). A new trio of cocktails, also served in The Coral Room, includes The Miranda Club, Cerulean and Runway Royale.

Located off Tottenham Court Road, The Bloomsbury originally housed a women’s club and was converted to a hotel in the 1990s. The red brick exterior gives way to interiors designed by Martin Brudnizki, which channel a glamorous 1920s vibe complete with antique accents, vivid Wall coverings and exceptional fabrics. The hotel is home to Seamus Heaney Library, named for the Irish Nobel Prize-winning poet, and replete with first editions (it’s also available as a meeting venue).

Guests can enjoy the property’s collaboration with AIRE Ancient Baths, nearby in Covent Garden. This wellness oasis, designed to offer restorative journeys, has a full menu of therapies and treatments, including The Restorative Ritual by Jo Malone London, along with themed Holistic Rituals and a collection of Ancient Relaxing Massages.
