Stockholm’s landmark Grand Hôtel has great things underway. Massive renovations of all of the spacious rooms and glorious suites located within the Burmanska Palace area of the hotel are being updated and polished, including the famous Princess Lilian Suite. The suite, comprised of a large lounge, a spa area with workout equipment, a private cinema, a kitchen and two terraces that provide views of Lake Mälaren and the Royal Palace, has had all floors replaced with parquet flooring and an updated color scheme of gray-blue, creams and gold. Both bedrooms have been fitted with hand-woven carpets, furnishings sourced from multiple countries and a portrait of the suite’s namesake painted by artist Fabian Edstam. Elsewhere in the palace, a muted color scheme made up of royal, sand and blond offsets marble, stained woods, leather, wool, brass, linen and velvety curtains. Lighting ranges from classic chandeliers to contemporary fixtures, casting the perfect glow over guests’ stays.
