Surrounded by nearly 2 million acres of national forest land, Sedona is a hotbed for outdoor adventures and activities. Dubbed one of the most beautiful settings in the United States, the Arizona city offers incredible red rock formations; a thriving arts and culture scene; exceptional spas; and, as many claim, unseen cosmic energy fields known as vortexes, leading to a number of alternative therapies on offer. Sedona plays host to numerous events annually.

GETTING THERE & AROUND
The closest international airport to Sedona — and the most popular for travelers visiting the city — is Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. Travelers can expect plenty of access from anywhere around the world to this busy airport. At about 119 miles to Sedona, travel from the airport to Sedona takes about two hours. The Sedona Phoenix Shuttle operates several times a day from PHX at $55 one way. Flagstaff and its airport lie about one hour from Sedona. With so much landscape to explore, consider car rental in Sedona, but be prepared for traffic.

For Peripatetic Professionals, the Whole Planet Becomes One Big Office Space

It’s about 1 p.m. Central European Time on a Thursday, and I'm riding on a boat off the coast of Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-largest city, scouting for seals basking in the sun on the rocky outcroppings that dot the sea. Thanks to my captain, who lived all his life on one of the islands of the Gothenburg archipelago, we find them quickly, delighted to watch them move, play and hop in and out of the water. By 4 p.m. I am back at my virtual office, ready to start my business day just as most of my North American clients are coming online.
