To celebrate 30 years of service to Jordan, Emirates announced one-time Airbus A380 service to Amman (AMM). The flight embarks on its journey Sept. 25, with the 500-passenger aircraft departing Dubai (DBX) at 7:25 a.m. and arriving in Amman at 9:30 a.m. The flight returns to Dubai the same day, leaving Jordan at 1 p.m. and landing in Dubai at 5 p.m. Emirates began service to Jordan in 1986, and since carried 4.1 million passengers, as well as 100,000 tons of cargo to and from the country in the last five years. The airline currently offers three daily flights between Amman and Dubai. The A380 flying to Amman offers a three-class configuration with 429 economy-class seats, 76 business-class seats and 14 first-class suites. First-class passengers enjoy the use of two shower spas, while business- and first-class passengers can mingle in the onboard lounge. All passengers can access the premium entertainment system, with the largest entertainment selection available. “The decision to bring the Emirates A380 for a one-off flight to Amman is a testament to the competitiveness of Jordan’s aviation infrastructure and strong transport sector,” said Yahya Kisbi, minister of transport, Jordan. Emirates currently operates 81 A380 aircraft and is awaiting delivery of an additional 61, more than any other airline.
