On June 4, 2018, a new route from Edelweiss Air will link the Colorado Rocky Mountains with the Swiss Alps. The direct service from Denver (DEN) to Zürich (ZRH) is the first non-stop route to Switzerland ever offered from Denver International Airport, which already ranks as the 18th-busiest airport in the world (and the sixth-busiest in the United States). With seating for 315 passengers on the Airbus A330-300 aircraft, cabins include business class with 27 fully lie-flat seats, each allowing aisle access; Economy Max with six additional inches of legroom and increased seat recline; and 232 economy-class seats featuring the newest generation of seating. Entertainment systems with HD touchscreens are standard throughout the aircraft.

Edelweiss Meal service in all classes is provided on long-haul flights including the Denver–Zürich route. “We are committed to offering a Swiss experience on board, with menu choices that include Swiss classics such as Bratwurst,” said Bernd Bauer, CEO, Edelweiss Air.

The seasonal route will operate June 4–Oct. 26, with flights in both directions on Mondays and Fridays serving an already established market that sees almost 30,000 passengers traveling annually between Denver and Switzerland. The new direct route is anticipated to bring 7,500 travelers to Denver in 2018, with a projected economic impact of $21 million.

“Denver has never before had a nonstop flight to Switzerland, and we are delighted

to add Edelweiss as our 25th airline at Denver International Airport,” emphasizes Kim Day, CEO, Denver International Airport. “This new nonstop service to Zurich further deepens Denver’s air service network and global connectivity, and we look forward to partnering with Edelweiss to support the long-term success of this new flight.”
