In anticipation of its 250th anniversary next year and in honor of the United States’ birthday month, The Omni Homestead Resort is marking the occasion with special “1766” celebration. That’s right: 1766.
Founded a decade before the American Revolution, America’s first resort has been welcoming guests with unparalleled hospitality and southern charm since 1766. Nestled on a 2,300-acre setting in the Allegheny Mountains of southwestern Virginia, the iconic property in the quaint town of Hot Springs has hosted a number of important figures, including more than 20 presidents, royalty, dignitaries and celebrities, since the 18th century.
Vacationers are invited to experience one of America’s most storied resorts and choose from more than 30 resort activities to enjoy with discounted midweek rates starting from $176.60 per night. Available for booking through the end of July with stay dates through end of the August, the resort’s limited-time offer is valid for stays Sunday through Thursday.
In addition to luxurious overnight accommodations and a wide array of fine and casual dining venues, guests of the 483-room property can enjoy a variety of recreational amenities including archery, falconry, horseback riding, golfing on one of two famed courses, tennis and a two-acre water park complete with lazy river, water slides, family pool and water play zone.

Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
