This year is an important one for Carnival Corp., with four new cruise ships expected to launch across four of its 10 global brands.
The four brands welcoming new vessels are Carnival Cruise Line, the company’s most popular; the premium Holland America Line; Seabourn, leader in small-ship, ultra-luxury cruising; and AIDA Cruises, the leading brand in Germany.
The new ships are part of Carnival’s ongoing fleet enhancement strategy with 18 new ships scheduled for delivery 2018–2022.
Carnival Horizon, expected April 2018, will offer the line’s first teppanyaki dining venue and an onboard brewery, as well as a range of accommodations including spa cabins with exclusive privileges at Cloud 9 Spa, extra-spacious staterooms in Family Harbor and a tropical-inspired Havana stateroom.
Seabourn Ovation is expected May 2018, featuring contemporary interiors, modern design elements and luxurious suites boasting private verandas and bespoke amenities.
The ms Nieuw Statendam is the second Pinnacle Class ship for Holland America Line, expected to launch December 2018. The large ship features grand, light-filled spaces; luxurious interiors inspired by the fluid curves of musical instruments; several fine-dining options; and onboard entertainment, including the Music Walk area.
December 2018 will also see the debut of AIDAnova, the first cruise ship in the industry to use clean-burning liquefied natural gas to generate 100 percent of its power.
