On May 17, celebrations get underway for a century of A Day in New Castle, first commemorated in 1925, making it the oldest house and garden tour in America. Visitors can explore New Castle’s historic homes and private gardens while enjoying activities such as costumed reenactments, live demonstrations, colonial artisans, crafts and vintage cars. Be sure to check out The Wheelman antique velocipedes and bicycles, as well as the collection of Steam Cars from Marshall Steam Car Museum.

Through Sept. 28, Longwood Gardens invites travelers to relax, sample a fresh brew at the Beer Garden and take in one of the scheduled performances during the Festival of Fountains. Shows include Main Fountain Garden Performances, Illuminated Fountain Performances, Fountain Shows, and the Fireworks & Fountains Show.

From June 2 to 7, enjoy a week’s worth of Greek music, food, dancing and culture at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church during the Holy Trinity Greek Festival. Sample delicious regional dishes such as pastichio, moussaka, dolmades, spanakopita, gyros, souvlaki and calamari. Attendees can also view colorful performances by the Greek Terpsechorian Youth Folk dance group.

Also this summer, from June 8 to 15, St. Anthony’s Church hosts St. Anthony’s Italian Festival, recognized as one of the country’s largest Italian-American cultural events. Visitors can immerse themselves in music, games and plenty of authentic Italian foods.
