I recently took a business trip to Seattle for a couple of days. To make the most of my time, I extended my trip and flew in on a Sunday morning to have some free time to explore. I’ve been to Seattle once before and knew my way around pretty well. I spent the sunny day (rare, right?!) walking around the neighborhoods, enjoying a Thai lunch and shopping at Nordstrom — it’s the flagship location, so of course I had to go.

I live in Los Angeles and am a bit of a snob when it comes to sushi, so I knew I had to make my way back to Momiji in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. During my previous visit, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner and wanted to take my colleague, as well. We started with a couple of delicious cocktails, including the Wolfgirl with Ketel One vodka, Giffard pomplemousse, St. Germaine and lemon. It was delicious and super-refreshing.

We ordered a laundry list of fish from the menu, probably enough for a table of four! We had dishes ranging from Jalapeño sashimi to crispy calamari and individual pieces of sushi. I especially loved the Casino Royale roll — spicy tuna, avocado, cilantro and cucumber topped with yellowtail, lime, shishito peppers and jalapeño. You could say I left with a happy belly. We finished the evening with a nightcap from Tavern Law, a two-minute walk from Momiji and one of the coolest bars, serving high-end, vintage cocktails with a speakeasy vibe. You have to try both for yourself, and I guarantee you will be happy you did!
