Our late September visit to Charleston, South Carolina, brought us picture-perfect weather, blue skies and just the right amount of Southern charm for a memorable weekend.
Our first stop was Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, where we met up with family ahead of a special occasion: our niece Stephanie’s wedding to Edwin the following evening. With its waterfront setting and beautiful views, it was the perfect place to settle in and get ready for a weekend of celebrating.

That first night we headed downtown with relatives for dinner at Vincent Chicco’s, where we enjoyed a delicious meal and a taste of Charleston’s vibrant dining scene.
Saturday brought another beautiful day to explore downtown. We parked at Charleston Place Hotel and set out on foot, wandering along King Street and Meeting Street. The historic architecture, inviting shops and lively streets made for a wonderful way to experience the city at our own pace.

When lunchtime rolled around, we grabbed rotisserie chicken served on roti bread at the farmers market, along with refreshing lemonade and iced tea. We found a spot to sit outside near Marion Square, where we could enjoy our food, soak up the sunshine and take in the relaxed atmosphere.

Saturday evening was all about Stephanie and Edwin. The wedding took place back at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, where everyone celebrated the happy couple against the beautiful waterfront backdrop. Dinner featured a Southern favorite, shrimp and grits, a fitting taste of Lowcountry cuisine. As the evening unfolded, a glowing harvest moon rose over the landscape, adding an extra touch of magic to an already unforgettable night.
