Looking out my window, I can see the leaves slowly start to morph from green to rich red, burnt orange and golden yellow colors, signaling the start of the beautiful fall foliage season on the East Coast. While I am still lamenting the end of summer and not exactly looking forward to months of freezing temperatures on the horizon, I am looking forward to getting outside more over the next month to enjoy the crisp weather and view the changing colors. According to the fall foliage report from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, most of the northern hardwood forests are now alive with color, and other areas are soon to follow. This year the state is experiencing an early flush of colors due to the long dry spell last month.
