Carly Allen

Carly started with Global Traveler in 2010 and, after a hiatus to join the private jet industry, returned to GT in 2016. She has a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication and Marketing from San Francisco State University. During her time at university, she got the bug for sales and marketing while working for BMW Group North America, which led nicely into her career at Global Traveler. She has traveled to Asia twice annually to visit partners from Seoul to Singapore since 2010, and annually to Mexico City, Seattle and Denver. Her leisure travels have taken her to the beaches of Hawai’i and Tahiti, along with exploring the wineries of Napa Valley and crabbing in Galveston, Texas. Allen enjoys spending time with her sisters (she is a triplet — all girls!) and family in Los Angeles, reading as many books as possible and attending spin class to help her clear her mind.

Introducing Duke

As my travel schedule slowed to a crawl in 2020, I did what millions of Americans did during quarantine, searching for love and distraction — I adopted a puppy! I personally believe adopting or rescuing a dog/cat/animal is the best and most responsible way to find a new furry friend. I was lucky enough to have a robust adoption non-profit close by, The Wagmor.

Daejeon Prepares for Its Iconic Zero O’Clock Festival

Daejeon, South Korea, looks forward to August 2024 and the return of its iconic tradition, the Zero O’Clock Festival. This year, the event is held Aug. 9 –17 with a time travel theme featuring past, present and future zones. Find events pertaining to each zone’s characteristics in the area of Jungang-ro Street, from Daejeon Station to the former site of the South Chungcheong Provincial Office. These streets will be free of vehicles, and public transportation is highly recommended.

Four Seasons Mexico City Review

I arrived in Mexico City on a sunny late afternoon and zipped through light traffic from Benito Juarez International Airport to the heart of Mexico City, Paseo de la Reforma. Four Seasons Mexico City sits in the middle of the bustling area; but once you arrive in the covered driveway, you are transported into a sense of calm, art and luxury.
