Ahead of its June 1 opening, Rosewood Amsterdam now accepts reservations, as the first Rosewood Hotels & Resorts property in the Netherlands, Rosewood Amsterdam blends the city’s historic charm with modern luxury.
Rosewood Amsterdam occupies the city’s former Palace of Justice, built in 1665 and situated on the UNESCO World Heritage-listed canals. Thoughtfully restored by Studio Piet Boon, the new hotel preserves the structural and cultural integrity of the building while incorporating new details and elements to original features like cellblocks and courtrooms.
Offering 134 guestrooms and suites, as well as five signature suites, guests can enjoy views of the canals, peaceful courtyards or townhouse rooftops.
Three distinctive restaurants and bars, including an in-house distillery, provide guests with an immersive dining experience. Other amenities include an Asaya Spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, an indoor swimming pool and a 2,400-square-foot ballroom.
“Our mission is to craft an experience where Amsterdam’s rich history and culture intertwine with Rosewood’s distinctive lifestyle,” said Thomas Harlander, managing director, Rosewood Amsterdam. “By honoring the architectural legacy of the former Palace of Justice and creating thoughtfully designed spaces, we are not only restoring a cherished landmark for the people of Amsterdam but also inviting guests to immerse themselves in the heart of this vibrant city. It’s a celebration of heritage, innovation and meaningful connections.”
For the ultimate day out on the canals, guests can book a private Salon Boat through the hotel, providing an elegant and scenic way to travel to and from the hotel.

Others are more delicate, like a long trickle down smooth rock, creating a vast and mesmerizing maze of trails before pooling below. Whatever the type, waterfalls have awed us for thousands of years — and for good reason.

As we cruised through Lake Gatún, gliding by islands covered with thick vegetation while tropical birds flew overhead, it was hard to believe we were in the midst of a manmade feat of engineering.
