Fall is a special time of year with its crisp air, vibrant foliage and an abundance of seasonal treats. This past weekend my friends and I embarked on a picturesque journey just outside of New York City.

Our adventure began at Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard in North Salem, just an hour’s drive from the city. As we arrived, we were greeted by the enchanting colors of fall foliage covering the hills. At the orchard we enjoyed both apple-picking and pumpkin-patching while eating freshly baked apple cider donuts and drinking hot cider. The farm also had a market which was a treasure trove of apple-themed goodies, including seasonal wines and pies.

Next we headed to Purdy’s Farmer and the Fish for lunch, a charming restaurant that exuded rustic charm. Their spicy cilantro margarita, calamari and clam chowder were divine.

After a leisurely lunch we embarked on a scenic drive, admiring the breathtaking fall foliage and exploring the charming town of Bedford, famously known as the home of Martha Stewart. The town’s picturesque streets and well-preserved historic homes showcased the quintessential charm of upstate New York.

Our day concluded at The Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-Georges, where we ventured into the cozy yet elegant bar. We enjoyed a round of drinks and noshed on appetizers while reminiscing about our day. The Inn’s atmosphere was the ideal ending to our fall adventure, offering a blend of luxury and comfort.
