Belmond recently announced the launch of its new luxury barge as part of its unmatched French collection and aim to encourage slow travel. Aptly named Coquelicot, A Belmond Boat, Champagne, the experience debuts May 2023, bringing guests on a journey of Champagne.

Collaborating with Maison Ruinart, the world’s oldest Champagne House, the boat features three spacious, double cabins with en-suite marble bathrooms. The barge also boasts an indoor salon with a Champagne bar and an extensive outdoor deck. The Champagne bar comes stocked with a curated selection of guests’ preferred labels. On the top deck, two seating lounges, an open kitchen and shaded dining area framed by potted local herbs and indigenous flowers allows guests to unwind and socialize. The dining area on the deck features a menu inspired by seasonal ingredients from trusted local suppliers.

Belmond’s partnership with Maison Ruinart means exclusive access to the first established House of Champagne, as well as a private-tasting lunch by Chef in Residence Valérie Radou. Other experiences include a guided tour of the historic Taissy vineyard and its newest sustainability initiatives. Personal guest experience executives help guests craft customized itineraries for the journey as well, from a historic trip through castles to an art-focused tour of Champagne to a series of epicurean visitors to Europe’s most celebrated wine producers.

Coquelicot, A Belmond Boat, is available for week-long private charters starting from $79,500. The all-inclusive journeys include table d’hóte meals, complimentary beverages, all planned excursions escorted by a private guide and transfer from Paris to the barge.
