A far cry from the Agatha Christie murder mystery, the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is adding three new grand suites for the 2020 season.
The new suites are named after iconic European cities, Vienna, Prague and Budapest. The new accommodations bring the total number of six grand suites onboard. A one-night journey in the grand suites start at approximately $7,860 per person.
Each suite exemplifies fine craftsmanship. From embroidered cushions to intricately carved marquetry, the suites offer unparalleled luxury. Double beds, in-suite bathrooms and heated floors bring the level of luxury to unparalleled heights.
“As with everything on board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, the design and careful restoration that goes into each suite, whilst respecting the original 1920s Art-Deco design, is extraordinary. Each meticulous suite will draw inspiration from the romance, adventure and style of each great European city we travel to. The suites evoke the individual city experience whether it is walking along the Charles Bridge in Prague or exploring the contrasting Gothic and Ottoman architecture of Budapest. They are a real tribute to the romance and glamour of Europe and the golden era of rail travel,” said Gary Franklin, vice president, trains and cruises, Belmond.
Each suite aims to capture the essence of the city it is named after. The full collection now includes Paris, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Venice and Istanbul.
