The doors of Atzaró Agroturismo Hotel and Spa open for the season in Ibiza. Guests are invited to come and experience the sustainable estate’s firmly rooted connections to nature, with accommodations featuring gardens, pools or terraces, and a spa occupying a heavenly scented location within groves of oranges. Atzaro Design conceptualized each of the 24 rustically serene, created to exist harmoniously with the surrounding countryside.
Most meats and fish are locally sourced, while water is drawn from the property’s own pristine natural well. Bedrooms are stocked with filtered, estate-bottled waters, while an array of 200 solar panels supply the property’s electricity. Charging ports for electric vehicles are available, and the hotel is free of single-use plastics.
Guests can wander along hiking paths in the nearby countryside; relax in the manicured tropical gardens among rosemary, lavender and aloe vera; and enjoy the use of electric mountain bikes to explore the area or embark on nature tours. For swimming, there’s a chlorine-free, 141-foot freshwater pool, its waters also supplied by the well.
The Atzaró vegetable garden supplies organically grown fruits and vegetables for The Orange Tree and La Veranda restaurants. Organic garden waste is returned to the hotel’s compost area as part of the estate’s ongoing effort to create an ecological circle. The garden is also the source for organic products used in the spa. Within the spa garden, guests will find oversized, four-poster daybeds set among fragrant plants; an outdoor Jacuzzi; a sauna pod; an ice bath; and sunbathing decks. There’s also a terrace and lounging area with a fire pit, and a yoga pavilion where meditation sessions and healing workshops are hosted.
