The team just returned from the sixth WhereverFamily Wherever Awards, held at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC. What a pleasure to return to the landmark property built to house the General Post Office in the District of Columbia. The original building was designed by Robert Mills, known for designing many buildings between Philadelphia
and Charleston, including his most famous work, the Washington Monument. Many thanks to Bill Hanley, Kimpton Monaco’s director of sales and marketing, and the wonderful staff for making the Wherever Awards a great success. Top winners include United Airlines and United MileagePlus, which stepped up this year to focus on the needs of traveling families.
We will hold our next event at The Union League of Philadelphia on June 27 to celebrate the winners of Global Traveler’s 11th Leisure Lifestyle Awards, honoring the best among destinations, cruise lines, tour operators and other providers catering to luxury leisure travel.
On Aug. 15 Trazee Travel (trazeetravel.com) will celebrate the ninth iteration of The Trazees, to be held at Aloft Dallas Downtown. Many say this property, the first of the brand, features the quintessential Aloft design. The Trazees event will take place during the Global Business Travel Association’s annual convention, where the industry unveils the newest offerings. Trazee Travel reaches a wide audience of travelers, mostly between the ages of 25 and 40.
Finally, Global Traveler will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the GT Tested Reader Survey awards with a gala at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena on Dec. 13. Everyone is excited to experience this new-to-us, luxurious venue offering a vast variety of options from fine dining to tennis to Chuan Spa. Come join us and make a long weekend of it at The Langham!
