American Airlines and Delta Air Lines were named among the best in the world in the 2020 APEX Official Airline Rating Awards. The Airline Passenger Experience Association evaluates airlines based on votes from more than 500,000 passengers around the world.
The award ceremony was held in Los Angeles last month, with winners announced in four categories: global, major, regional and low-cost airlines. From July 1, 2018–June 30, 2019, passengers rated their overall flight experience based on five subcategories: seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, and entertainment and WiFi. The ratings accounted for more than 1 million flights on 600 airlines.
Among U.S. carriers, only American Airlines and Delta Air Lines received five stars.
