Travelers with a little extra dough that have reservations with American Airlines can now travel to their flight in style. Flight itineraries to or from New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX) now offer private airport transfer by helicopter.
This luxurious method of transport allows travelers to bypass the notoriously horrendous traffic in these two major cities and arrive to either Los Angeles International Airport or New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport for their flights.
Through a partnership with on-demand helicopter service Blade, American Airlines passengers who book this service can access their helicopter from Blade’s launch pads in Los Angeles and New York. Upon arriving at the airport, travelers will be escorted by Cadillac to American’s Flagship First Check-In portal.
In order to reserve the service, passengers must be able to fill the helicopter (six seats), though American is considering offering single-rider choppers in the future.
On-demand transfers booked up to 20 minutes prior to departure cost $1,250, while those requested up to 72 hours before departure cost $695. Travelers also can pay an extra $350 for access to the airport’s Admirals Club, Flagship Lounge and Flagship First Dining,
