AirlineRatings.com released its list of top airlines for 2020, paving the way for a bright year in air travel.
The top award of Airline of the Year went to Air New Zealand, which AirlineRatings.com noted offers innovative in-flight services and amenities, a pristine safety record and a positive working environment for employees.
Last year’s top airline, Singapore Airlines, dropped to second place in 2020 at the Airline Excellence Awards, which recognize airlines for top-ranking services from lounges to first-class cabins to in-flight entertainment options. Singapore Airlines was also recognized as having the Best First Class for 2020.
All Nippon Airways came in third place, with Qantas and Cathay Pacific coming in at fourth and fifth place, respectively.
JetBlue won in the category of low-cost airlines in the Americas.
The Australia-based AirlineRatings.com evaluates aviation safety and product performance. In choosing the finalists, the site considered each airline’s fleet age, passenger reviews, investment ratings, staff satisfaction and product offerings, among other deciding factors.
