Qatar Airways launched flights to Chiang Mai (CNX), its fourth destination in Thailand.
The new route complements existing service to Bangkok (DMK) and holiday destinations Phuket (HKT) and Krabi (KBV).
The new, four-times-weekly seasonal service operates between Doha (DOH) and Chiang Mai December 2017–May 2018, using a wide-body aircraft.
Called the Rose of the North, Chiang Mai is an ideal destination for holiday travellers, offering a laidback vibe and beautiful natural scenery.
“Thailand continues to grow in popularity with holiday-makers and it’s not hard to see why. Our new flights to Chiang Mai mark our fourth route to this beautiful country, reflecting the demand from our customers for more high-quality leisure destinations,” said Akbar Al Baker, chief executive, Qatar Airways Group.
Qatar Airways first flew to Thailand in 1996 with service to Bangkok. Flights followed to Phuket and Krabi, and the airline currently offers five daily flights from Doha to Bangkok, as well as a double-daily service from Doha to Phuket and three flights a week from Doha to Krabi.
Also this month, Krabi service became daily, bringing the total number of flights to Thailand to 60.
