Dining options at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport are about to get a lot more exciting. United Airlines and airport experience building firm OTG announced plans to bring a diverse set of food vendors to the airline’s complement of terminals.
The airport is scheduled for a makeover of its C-North Terminal and a full slate of new restaurants at its C-South and E terminals. OTG is also installing around 8,000 iPads in the three terminals for check-out speed and efficiency.
Gavin Molloy, vice president of corporate real estate, United Airlines, said, “We continue to improve the customer experience for travelers at our Houston hub. The additional dining and retail options planned for Terminals C-South and E, combined with the offerings we’ll feature in our brand-new Terminal C-North, will provide an unparalleled ‘taste of Houston’ for local travelers and visitors alike.”
Among the most promising options are a Magnolia Meatball Shop (serving comfort food), Agave (Tex-Mex), H-Burger (locally-sourced burger options); Q (barbecue); and Beerhive (for microbrews)
Rick Blatstein, chief executive officer, OTG, said, “Our team at OTG has been working hard for months to bring Houston a re-imagined terminal experience at Bush Intercontinental. With the announcement of these expanded concepts, we are one step closer to making that a reality for Houston’s travelers.”
