Alaska Airlines expanded the number of direct destinations from its hub at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to 84 with new service to Nashville International Airport. The carrier offers the route between two of the country’s largest and most popular music capitals daily.

“Loyal Pacific Northwest customers will enjoy our convenient schedule, and our new Nashville customers will appreciate our great service, complimentary assigned seats and our premium cabin experience,” said John Kirby, vice president of capacity planning, Alaska Airlines.

Flights to the Music City are operated with fuel-efficient, next generation Boeing 737 aircraft, offering customers the ability to enjoy free entertainment on their own devices and power at every seat.

Passengers can enjoy a taste of the Northwest with area-inspired food and beverages such as Beecher’s Flagship cheese and exclusively blended Canoe Ridge wine.

“We are thrilled to welcome Alaska Airlines to Nashville and Middle Tennessee,” said Rob Wigington, president and CEO, Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority. “Year-round nonstop service to Seattle has been one of our top priorities, as part of a strategic effort to deliver nonstop service to major cities in the northwest U.S. that will continue to fuel Nashville’s growth and economic prosperity.”

The Flight Less Taken: Unsung Carriers Whisk You Away to Far-Flung Destinations

The miracle of flight feels slightly less miraculous these days. Endless delays, cramped seating and shortchanged amenities feel par for the course, and one can easily forget the wondrous fact that you’re hurtling above planet Earth, soaring above the clouds and across the skies to your destination of choice. In the olden days, you were limited to the fallibility of your outrigger canoe or horse-drawn carriage. It’s not hyperbolic to invoke the invention of the wheel when reminding oneself to stay calm and carry on in coach.

The Art of Balance in Seoul: Beyond the Boardroom

The value of a destination is no longer defined solely by infrastructure, efficiency or scale. Increasingly, it is measured by a city’s ability to balance productivity with well-being — creating opportunities for focus, restoration and more meaningful connections.

Review: Bodysgallen Hall

The National Trust owns more than 500 historic buildings across the United Kingdom, each offering a vivid sense of its particular era. In common with many visitors, I often find myself wondering what it would be like to actually live in such a place. Imagine sitting, for instance, in one of those ancient oak-paneled drawing rooms at night, with the fire roaring and the wind rattling the ancient mullioned windows. I didn’t have to imagine it. Here I was, immersed in history in 17th-century Bodysgallen Hall in North Wales.

How Safe Are Theme Park Rollercoasters? Should We Be More Wary?

No matter your age, we’ve all ventured to an amusement park at one point or another. Whether taking a trip solely to visit a theme park and ride rollercoasters or tacking on an extra day of a trip to enjoy some thrills at a nearby park, it’s nearly impossible to not enter an amusement park. But even the most adrenaline-seeking travelers are starting to pause after the Oct. 12 incident in which 42-year-old Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem fell to his death while riding Goliath rollercoaster at Six Flags Over Georgia, a theme park outside of Atlanta. After the tragedy, Six Flags, the country’s largest theme park operator, closed 10 rides across seven states.
