Essential business philosophy: I instituted process management, breaking down every hotel process to improve each component of the guest experience. Our innovation committee of staff from every department develops ideas for service, policies and amenities, plus methods to implement the best ideas such as in-room check-in, a pet menu, a broader children’s program and enhanced in-room dining.

Yardstick of success: The Peninsula Beverly Hills earned an impressive array of awards, including being the only AAA Five-Diamond and Forbes Five-Star hotel in Southern California for 22 consecutive years. Even more important, our 70 percent repeat guest rate shows we are satisfying our guests.

About The Peninsula Beverly Hills
What can guests expect from The Peninsula Beverly Hills this year? Our redesigned Suite 100 pays homage to the birth of modern luxury in the 1990s, when the hotel opened. Interior designers Cynthia Forchielli and Helen Glynn of Forchielli Glynn, LLC (who redesigned all our guestrooms, suites and private villas) created dazzling décor for Suite 100, inspired by the glamour of the awards season when the hotel hosts Hollywood VIPs and celebrities. Photographic murals depicting a red carpet arrival flank the walls in the living/dining area. Dramatic black wood floors provide a stage for the sumptuous seating in lush velvets and silks, and the dining table has a sparkling crystal ring chandelier. Throughout 2014, guests can book a Suite 100 overnight package including VIP-worthy amenities: a private poolside cabana; a body scrub and spray-tan treatment for two in The Peninsula Spa; and customized evening plans curated by our chief concierge, James Little, renowned for his ability to book any restaurant in town and secure great seats to any concert or sports event.
This fall, we begin renovation of The Belvedere, our signature restaurant and the only AAA Five-Diamond restaurant in Los Angeles for 20 consecutive years. We will expand the patio to accommodate more outdoor seating and remove partitions in the main dining room so everyone has a garden view. Executive Chef David Codney’s new menu will emphasize simply prepared, fresh fish and organic farm-to-table salads and entrées.
Because we won so many awards this past year, including “Best Hotel in the United States” in the 2013 Global Traveler GT Tested Reader Survey, we invite guests to enjoy our “Celebrate With Us” one-night package throughout 2014, which includes a bottle of Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne and daily American breakfast for two.
