I’m in Anchorage for business, finally meeting our clients in person. I’m certainly not the only one exploring this beautiful “Last Frontier state” this peak season. I’ve been here for a little over 12 hours, and I’ve already got a few favorites.

ANC is a beautiful airport. Did you know you can enjoy the most beautiful parts of Alaska by train?
You know I love a walkable city with bike paths. I got in in the evening and got to see the downtown area after my dinner walk. You can find the likeness of Captain Cook all over the city. Get yourself reindeer hot dogs, yak burger, buffalo meatloaf and all the seafood deliciousness you’ve dreamt ever of. I did not eat all those for dinner!
I did make my way to one of the best views of the water, 49th State Brewing – Anchorage. What an awesome place to just enjoy the perfect July weather. You really can’t go wrong with anything you get on the menu. There’s something for everyone. I enjoyed a halibut fish & chips because I love seafood. This place got its start out in Denali; so if you stop by the gift shop, you’ll get a nice little story about the experience up there in case you make your way there.

Halibut Fish & Chips. I drowned mine in malt vinegar, yum!

I always love finding a good sour. This is their Pog Sour. Serious taste of Hawaii with its tropical fruit.

Sunset view from 49th State Brewing.
I continued on my seafood tasting journey by having a crab meat omelet the next morning at one of the most popular places in downtown Anchorage, Snow City Cafe. No matter the time during peak season, there is always a crowd. This is another eatery where regardless of whether you go with a savory meal or a sweet one, you are going to have yourself a delectable time.

Meet the Crabby omelet from Snow City Cafe.
More to come on the remainder of my time here!
