With all of the excitement surrounding Philadelphia’s sports teams right now, it’s not surprising Xfinity Live!, also known as “Philly’s fourth stadium,” has been the place to be lately. If you’re attending any of the games, it is the perfect spot to hang out before or after you enter the stadium. If you aren’t going into the game, it’s the perfect place to watch while enjoying great food, drinks and entertainment. Located in South Philly at 1100 Pattison Ave., the massive venue is centrally located to all of the Philadelphia stadiums and easily accessible via the main subway line in the city, the Broad Street Line.
Once you make it through the line outside of Xfinity Live!, it’s unlikely you’ll run out of places to go. The dining and entertainment complex features five different connecting venues; more than a dozen bars; sit-down restaurants; and food stands from Geno’s Steaks, Chickie’s and Pete’s, and Lorenzo’s Pizza, three Philadelphia favorites. The first thing you’ll come across is NBC Sports Arena, the largest bar at Xfinity and home to one of the largest high-definition televisions on the East Coast. As you wander around, you’ll find PBR Philly.Known for its country theme, PBR Philly is outfitted with dancing cowgirls and its famous mechanical bull for bar-goers to ride. Outside you’ll find the Miller Lite Concert Stage playing live music in the middle of an outdoor plaza. Adding to the excitement, throughout the whole venue you’ll find hundreds of televisions playing every Philadelphia sports game.
This past week I hopped on the subway to make my way down to South Philly on both Thursday and Saturday to watch the Phillies’ World Series run, the Eagles continue their undefeated season, and the Union’s shot at the MLS Cup at Xfinity Live!. On Thursday I grabbed dinner with friends at 1100 Social, one of the restaurants inside the venue that serves typical bar fare, before hanging out in PBR Bar to watch the Eagles and Phillies games. On Saturday we got there early to watch the Union game, enjoying Chickie’s and Pete’s’ famous crab-fries in the sunny weather on the outdoor plaza near the Miller Lite Concert Stage. As the Phillies game was starting and the sun went down, we made our way inside to the NBC Sports Arena where we walked around and took pictures at their photo booth before joining some friends to watch the game at the table they reserved.
The best part of going to Xfinity Live! to watch Philadelphia play is no matter the outcome of the game, you’re sure to have a great time watching in such an exciting atmosphere. It’s great knowing we’re home to such a unique venue for our one-of-a-kind fans to enjoy.
