Arrival/Check-in: When I arrived at Hotel Palomar, it was a beautiful spring afternoon in Philadelphia. The staff immediately assisted me with my luggage and welcomed me to the property. I was intrigued by the unique design of the hotel. Adorned with vibrant portraits of Thomas Jefferson and colorful sculptures of Benjamin Franklin, the boutique property had a contemporary twist on American history. After taking a moment to enjoy the atmosphere, I approached the front desk where check-in was fast, easy and friendly. (30/30)
Guest Quarters: My room had an exceptional view of the city and plenty of space for work and relaxation. The room was equipped with a 37-inch LCD flat-screen TV, an iHome docking station, L’Occitane bath products, a laptop safe, a fully stocked bar and — most important — leopard print bathrobes. My only regret was not having enough time to enjoy all of the amenities. (28/30)
Service/Amenities: I always appreciate a complimentary morning newspaper as well as prompt in-room service. Hotel Palomar provided both and went beyond my expectations as it offered a complimentary morning coffee and tea bar as well as wine and cocktail hour in the hotel’s living room lobby. I enjoyed an incentive to savor my morning coffee and evening glass of wine somewhere other than my room. With 194 guest-rooms, 19 spa rooms and 17 suites, the options for pampering and making the most of your stay are endless. (39/40)
The Experience: I wish I’d had more time to explore this unique Kimpton property in Philadelphia. Located in Center City, part of the historic Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, Hotel Palomar offers a premium boutique experience for those traveling for business, pleasure or both.
Total Score: 97/100

May 21, 2025Hotel Nice Beau Rivage Review
In the city Henri Matisse once called home — and where Musée Matisse holds his largest collection — Hotel Beau Rivage has a special connection with the artist, who first visited the hotel in 1916 and painted famous sea views from his room 89 in 1917. Today, framed Matisse prints — many brightly colored cut-out collages from the artist’s JAZZ collection — decorate its walls. Hotel guests also benefit from a partnership with the museum.
