Let’s face it, everyone loves twinkling lights, Christmas trees, festive food and drinks, and seeing family and friends, but there’s something extra satisfying about entering a bar completely decked out in holiday-themed décor serving themed drinks and dishes … all while knowing it’s only there for a limited time.

The chances are also high you’re traveling at some point for the holidays, so why not include a unique pop-up on your trip, too? We’ve gathered seven holiday pop-ups and bars worth making a visit to this winter season:

The Ugly Sweater Holiday Pop-Up Bar at Fairmont Austin in Austin, Texas

Fairmont Austin’s seventh-floor rooftop bar Rules & Regs transforms into The Ugly Sweater Pop-up Bar starting Nov. 27, pairing an over-the-top atmosphere with polished seasonal flair. Step inside a kitschy winter escape full of lights, décor, spirited cocktails, festive bites and downtown skyline views. Of course, you’ll want to arrive in your most festive attire, too.

Mistletoe’s Holiday Bar at The Lodge at Spruce Peak in Stowe, Vermont

Within one of Stowe, Vermont’s, most acclaimed lodges comes Mistletoe’s Holiday Bar, returning Nov. 27. The pop-up will grace the lodge’s cozy speakeasy, The Linehouse, transforming into a warm space full of lights, décor and music. Instead of a standard cocktail menu, bartenders will create drinks tailored to your preference. And nothing can beat that backdrop of snow-covered mountains either.

Grape & Grain Exchange’s Miracle on the Square in Jacksonville, Florida

Craft cocktail venue Grape & Grain in Jacksonville’s historic San Marco neighborhood will soon welcome back its popular Miracle on the Square holiday pop-up. Think upside-down Christmas trees hanging from the ceiling, dazzling lights and wrapping paper on the walls. And, of course, you’ll find some fun and tasty holiday drinks, too.

Coastal Christmas Bar at The Portofino Hotel in Redondo Beach, California

The waterfront lounge at The Portofino Hotel & Marina transitions into the Coastal Christmas Bar, a nautically themed winter wonderland open Dec. 1–Jan. 1, 2027. Expect snowy driftwood décor, carolers almost every Friday evening, King Harbor views, and a limited-time cocktail menu. Food draws inspiration from the sea, with dishes like mini lobster rolls and crab croquettes.

Snowed Inn at Ace Eat Serve in Denver, Colorado

One beloved Denver restaurant, Ace Eat Serve, brings back its popular holiday pop-up, Snowed Inn at Ace, Nov. 21–Jan. 6, 2027. Frosty windows, snow-dusted trees, après-ski décor and unique cocktails are on deck. Try the Chai Apple Cider or Snowed Inn Cosmo. The restaurant will continue to serve its modern Chinese fare, too.

Craftsman Row Saloon Christmas Pop-Up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

While this bar doesn’t just go big for the winter season (you’ll find a haunting Halloween bar in autumn), the holiday season is when the bar truly shines. A real toy train circles overhead, above the bar, and many giant nutcrackers and trees adorn the main space. An extensive holiday food and drink menu (like the Gingerbread margarita and Snow Globe spritz) will leave you wishing the holiday season lasted forever.

Johnny’s Gold Brick’s Miracle at Johnny’s in Houston, Texas

Miracle at Johnny’s returns to Johnny’s Gold Brick this year. Opening Nov. 20 and running through Dec. 30, this pop-up entirely changes the interior to extravagant Christmas décor, complemented by specialty cocktails like the Snowball old fashioned and Christmapolitan.

Convenience, Comfort and Efficiency Drive Private Aviation Options

During “the Golden Age of Air Travel,” in the 1950s and ’60s, getting aboard an airplane was a special occasion, with passengers wearing their best outfits to suit the exclusive setting and lavish dining. This changed during the 1970s and into the 1980s, when commercial air travel became more democratized, thanks in part to the U.S. Airline Deregulation Act of 1978, and luxury was contained within business- and first-class cabins. In the last 30 years, as discount carriers found their audience, more shifts took place in major carriers’ premium cabins and lounges.

The Flight Less Taken: Unsung Carriers Whisk You Away to Far-Flung Destinations

The miracle of flight feels slightly less miraculous these days. Endless delays, cramped seating and shortchanged amenities feel par for the course, and one can easily forget the wondrous fact that you’re hurtling above planet Earth, soaring above the clouds and across the skies to your destination of choice. In the olden days, you were limited to the fallibility of your outrigger canoe or horse-drawn carriage. It’s not hyperbolic to invoke the invention of the wheel when reminding oneself to stay calm and carry on in coach.
