InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel continues its year-long celebrations honoring its 100th anniversary with holiday magic and jolly experiences. Included in this year’s festive lineup are seasonal dining offerings, exclusive accommodations and timeless NYC hospitality.

The hotel’s signature restaurant, The Parlour, welcomes guests to kick back, relax and let professional chefs do all the cooking this holiday season. From Nov. 26 to 29, guests can enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with seasonal favorites from Barclay’s famous cornbread stuffing to pumpkin Basque cheesecake. Christmas Day welcomes guests to a festive fixed-price menu, priced at $118 per person or $215 per couple.

Welcoming back a beloved Barclay tradition for the third consecutive year, Barclay Express: Cookies & Cocoa is a celebration inspired by the hotel’s history as one of the original railroad hotels in Grand Central’s Terminal City and the holiday classic The Polar Express. Guests can look forward to cookie decorating, hot cocoa and other festive activities hosted in Barclay Salon.

The hotel’s special touch is its Letters to Santa Postcard Station in the lobby to send holiday greetings to loved ones or mail a special letter to Santa. Families can surprise their little travelers with a festive in-room hideaway, complete with plush pillows, warm blankets, classic board games and more.

Experience New Year’s Eve in true V.I.P. fashion with a special Champagne and oyster pairing while watching the ball drop into 2027 in Times Square.

Convenience, Comfort and Efficiency Drive Private Aviation Options

During “the Golden Age of Air Travel,” in the 1950s and ’60s, getting aboard an airplane was a special occasion, with passengers wearing their best outfits to suit the exclusive setting and lavish dining. This changed during the 1970s and into the 1980s, when commercial air travel became more democratized, thanks in part to the U.S. Airline Deregulation Act of 1978, and luxury was contained within business- and first-class cabins. In the last 30 years, as discount carriers found their audience, more shifts took place in major carriers’ premium cabins and lounges.

The Flight Less Taken: Unsung Carriers Whisk You Away to Far-Flung Destinations

The miracle of flight feels slightly less miraculous these days. Endless delays, cramped seating and shortchanged amenities feel par for the course, and one can easily forget the wondrous fact that you’re hurtling above planet Earth, soaring above the clouds and across the skies to your destination of choice. In the olden days, you were limited to the fallibility of your outrigger canoe or horse-drawn carriage. It’s not hyperbolic to invoke the invention of the wheel when reminding oneself to stay calm and carry on in coach.

What Actually Happens If You Get Sick or Hurt on a Cruise?

You’ve booked your cabin, mapped the ports and packed the sunscreen. Hopefully, you also bought some insurance. But have you ever thought about what actually happens if a medical emergency strikes mid-voyage?
