This year brings a host of new airline routes connecting U.S. cities more conveniently than ever. While international airlines make their way into American airports, domestic routes also step up their game, offering access to smaller cities with less hassle.
Beginning in April, United Airlines introduces the first of 10 new routes connecting passengers in Chicago (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR) and Washington, D.C. (IAD) with El Paso (ELP), Jacksonville (JAX) and Missoula, Mont. (MSO).
Also starting in April, American Airlines flies the following routes:
- Chicago to Bangor, Maine (BGR); Charleston (CHS); and Myrtle Beach, S.C. (MYR)
- Dallas-Forth Worth (DFW) to Asheville, N.C. (AVL) and Oakland (OAK)
- Los Angeles to Bozeman, Mont. (BZN) and Flagstaff, Ariz. (FLG)
- Phoenix (PHX) to Amarillo, Texas (AMA) and Oklahoma City (OKC)
- New York to Traverse City, Mich. (TVC) and Portland, Maine (PWM)
Come June, Delta Air Lines flies directly from San Jose (SJC) to New York (JFK), rounding out the new domestic routes for the top three U.S. airlines.
