When the world needs a quirky new trend to make the mundane seem fun, Japan heeds the call — this time with a new offer from Yomiuriland, a theme park in the suburbs of western Tokyo. Yomiuriland now allows thrill-seeking guests to work remotely from the comfort of the park’s designated locations, including a Ferris wheel with an “Amusement Workcation” package.
This day pass also lets guests create a remote office poolside in work booths offering chairs, tables, outlets and WiFi — guests can also choose to work from the park’s WiFi-ready Ferris Wheel for up to an hour. Bring the kids and get some work done while they play, or join them between meetings.
Business travelers and locals can spend the day working remotely from the park, and take advantage of the many rides and activities during breaks or after work.
The package will be available beginning Oct. 15, beginning at $17.94 for one guest and $34 for two.
Japan is just one of the many countries looking to make remote work more fun with “workcation” packages. Check out this list for more ideas on how to mix up the work day.
