Located south of Savannah, Georgia, on the Atlantic Ocean, Jekyll Island Club Resort celebrates its 134^th year as one of the country’s finest historic properties. As the beautiful property enters another year, Jekyll Island Club Resort invites guests to experience the unique blend of Gilded Age influence and modern décor. Pebblebrook Hotel Trust recently acquired the property, investing $25 million into the enhancement of the many buildings comprising the resort. In 2017, the modern beachfront Jekyll Ocean Clubopened, offering 41 guestrooms and 40 suites with ocean views and access to the Atlantic Ocean.

In addition to choosing where to stay, from the new Jekyll Ocean Club to the historic 159-room resort to the Island Club Cottages, guests can choose from six restaurants and lounges for meals. These restaurants include a riverfront restaurant serving fresh seafood and an elegant meal in the hotel’s Grand Dining Room. With elegant white pillars lining the center of the room, the Grand Dining Room serves classic and elevated dishes like orange duck, rack of lamb, filet mignon and fresh salmon.

The property also comes with two outdoor pools, several veranda lawns and a 19^th-century-style croquet lawn. The many paths and trails make the island the perfect place to go for a leisurely bike ride to explore the many beaches and historic sites found throughout the island.

Near the hotel lies Faith Chapel, a historic wooden building featuring a stained-glass window crafted by Louis Comfort Tiffany more than 100 years ago. Also found on the island are the remains of Horton House, an 18^th-century house marked as one of the oldest tabby buildings in Georgia.

As an island off the coast of Georgia, Jekyll Island also features historic sites and exhibits surrounding slavery in the United States. Visitors can experience The Wanderer Memory Trail to learn about how one of the last American slave ships landed on the banks of the Jekyll River with more than 500 enslaved Africans. The experience includes individual exhibits and a trail following the footsteps of Umwalla, a young African boy taken from his home. The Wanderer Memory Trail received a UNESCO Slave Route Project Site of Memory designation for its role in depicting the tests and struggles Africans faced in America.
