121 MIDDLE is a new property in Portland, Maine, branding itself as “an urban inn.” The historic Thompson Block building offers guestrooms with full kitchens and living spaces across one floor with an apartment feel. The small property only offers 11 guestrooms currently, with five different floorplans, including two-bedroom apartments, suites and studios.

The stay experience is designed to be as hands-off as possible, with virtual check-in and check-out capabilities. The guestroom design caters to long-term stays, large groups and other travelers with unique needs.

“Our goal is to create an unrivaled hospitality experience in a diverse travel market,” said Alen Saric, proprietor, 121 MIDDLE. “Guests can customize the level of engagement with our team. They can utilize their residence like their own home, or they can engage with our local personnel for a tailored experience.”

The building itself is a 152-year-old Victorian structure and a Nationally Registered Historic Place. Now, guestrooms feature completely modern furnishings and appliances, with little to no touch of the building’s history. The location is within easy walking distance to nearby restaurants, shopping, breweries and the historic Old Port of Portland.
