United Airlines is listening to customers criticizing the airline’s decision to alter its food and beverage offerings.
The airline backtracked the decision to remove tomato juice from its beverage carts, based on a review of overall demand. It’s also going to revise unpopular changes made to its premium-cabin menu, adjusting the portion size and variety of meals offered on flights less than four hours long. The changes took effect June 1.
“We want our customers to know that we value and appreciate them and that we’re listening,” United confirmed in a statement Thursday. “Our customers told us that they were not happy about the menu modifications, so we made the decision to reverse the changes and return our meal service to our previous offerings.”
United launched a few changes at the beginning of May, including adding egg and chicken chorizo tacos to its Choice Menu. The airline also became the first to offer Stella Artois aboard domestic and international flights this summer. The tomato juice is expected back by the summer, possibly in July.
