United Airlines, in an agreement with Viasat, Inc, equips more than 70 planes with the company’s in-flight entertainment and connectivity system in the coming months.

The partnership will bring enhanced in-flight entertainment and improved internet connections. Viasat offers fast, high-quality internet through its high-capacity satellite system. This latest generation IFEC system will also boost United’s Private Screening entertainment options, giving passengers access to hundreds of titles from their personal devices.

“We’re pleased to expand our relationship with United, now providing direct internet and entertainment services to them and their customers,” said Don Buchman, vice president and general manager, commercial aviation, Viasat, in a statement.

“We’re focused on optimizing customer satisfaction through great connectivity and entertainment. Our goal is to ensure United’s customers are fully connected and enjoying their onboard connectivity and entertainment experiences.”

At least 58 of United’s new Boeing 737MAX aircraft will be outfitted with Viasat’s latest technology.
