United Polaris customers traveling through San Francisco International (SFO) can now enjoy the charms of the recently unveiled United Polaris® lounge in the International Terminal near Gate G92. The exceptional lounge space incorporates touches of the Bay Area, bringing a thoughtful, local feel to both California-based and -bound travelers.
The two-level lounge encompasses more than 28,000 square feet with 440 seats, and 19 different seating options. It’s easy to get work done or charge up all your devices as you await your flight with 492 power outlets and 492 USB ports. Prominent Bay Area artists bring a local aesthetic with eight pieces throughout the lounge.
Enjoy amazing cuisine in The Dining Room, a private, restaurant-style dining area boasting a menu by Californian chef Tritia Gestuvo. International comfort foods, like a traditional Chinese congee breakfast, pair well with staples such as the United Polaris burger. A bistro-like buffet also offers options like a ramen noodle bar and unique-to-San Francisco treats. Pair the culinary delights with Bay Area-inspired cocktails like the Mai Tai.
That’s not all: Five private daybeds feature plush Saks Fifth Avenue bedding and eight luxurious shower suites boast rainfall showers and Soho House & Co’s Cowshed Spa products. Personal valet services are available.
The United Polaris lounge embodies the entire focus of the United Polaris experience: providing long-haul travelers the opportunity for better sleep in the sky. On average, United Airlines plans to add one aircraft with United Polaris seating every 10 days through 2020. Beginning July 1, a cooling gel pillow will be provided on every seat. In addition, United now offers customers a pre-arrival dessert. On flights departing the U.S., enjoy a white chocolate cranberry cookie from Christie Cookie Co.®, in Nashville, Tennessee.
The United Polaris lounge at Newark Liberty International (EWR) opened this month, boasting distinct local flair throughout that embodies the spirit of the New York metropolitan area. Additional United Polaris lounges are scheduled to open in 2018 at Houston Intercontinental (IAH) this summer and Los Angeles International (LAX) in the fall.
