Last week, United Airlines announced a long-time employee as the airline’s new chief financial officer.
The announcement came Aug. 22 after an internal and external search to fill the role landed on Gerry Laderman, who served as the airline’s acting chief financial officer since May. Laderman was named executive vice president and CFO.
Before the appointment, Laderman served in a number of other senior-level executive roles, including vice president of finance, treasurer and as a member of the senior-level executive team.
In his new role, Laderman will be responsible for developing United’s overall financial strategy, the airline said in a statement.
“Gerry has been an integral member of our leadership team throughout my tenure at United. While leading the finance organization, he has focused on enforcing cost discipline and developing a fleet plan that is capital-efficient and flexible, all while partnering with the executive team to design and implement our growth strategy,” said Oscar Munoz, CEO, United Airlines.
Laderman is a 30-year veteran of United Airlines.
