Hotelier Ash welcomes its fourth hotel, Ulysses, to its collection. Situated in Mount Vernon, Baltimore, the 116-room hotel features an all-day café and late-night drinking parlor. The new hotel lies within the historic, nine-story Latrobe Building, a former 1912 apartment building with an early Italian Renaissance design. The hotel earns its name, Ulysses, from a ship that brought Bavarian immigrants to Baltimore at the turn of the century. The name also pays homage to James Joyce’s legendary and revolutionary novel and to the Greek hero, Odysseus.

The former home of seven-time Baltimore mayor Ferdinand Latrobe, The Ulysses incorporates the building’s rich history into each room and detail. From hand-beaded lamps to custom textiles to tapestry-style draperies, each room and suite features unique designs and décor. Guestrooms span across eight floors and embody one of four color themes: red, yellow, green and blue.

Ulysses also offers guests the option of four suites, one for each color. Each suite boasts a striking clawfoot bathtub in the center of the room. The suites include Dasher Suite, Tomorrow Suite, Our Lady of the Flowers Suite and Il Gattopardo Suite. Reservations start at $169 per night.
