U.K.-based Sawday’s Canopy & Stars has rounded up a selection of luxury treehouse accommodations modeled after fairytale castles and French chateaux. Founder Alastair Sawday searched the world for unique, romantic getaways. Sawday, or his son, Toby, personally inspect every property before it’s added to the Canopy & Stars portfolio.

Consider the Monbazillac Treehouse in Dordogne, where the luxurious mini-chateau includes a treetop hot tub and a breakfast delivered in a basket, hoisted to your doorstep via a pulley system. Also in Dordogne, the Milandes Treehouse recreates the look and ambience of a traditional French country house. With two bedrooms, a hot tub and a terrace beneath the branches, there’s little need to step foot on terra firma.

Both treehouse villas include access to a ground-level swimming pool should you decide to descend, and feature all the comforts of home, with refrigerated minibars, Dolce Gusto coffeemakers, walk-in showers and electric heating. With breakfast included and chef Vincent Lucas of Etincelles on call for evening meal preparation, there’s no need to do anything except relax and enjoy the views.
