Located at Terranea Resort, a 102-acre oceanfront resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, The Spa at Terranea recently completed a $4.5 million renovation of its facilities, led by RVD Associates, a Los Angeles-based, full-service interior design firm. The 50,000-square-foot spa boasts new décor throughout, a new entry and lobby, modernized lockers and bathrooms, refreshed treatment rooms and lounge areas, and a revitalization of the outdoor areas.

The new interior design accents and fine touches enhance the spa’s breezy indoor/outdoor motif, eliciting a delicate harmony with nature while enriching our world-class facilities and amenities to accommodate a rising demand.”

Rodrigo Vargas, principal, RVD, noted the new design found inspiration in the raw coastal beauty of the area, using a palette of soft blues, sandy neutrals and organic materials. Some of the new design features include the lobby’s distinctive monolithic quartzite reception desk and the co-ed relaxation room’s three ergonomic Evo loungers by Gharieni.

Harmonic Aura Awakening

The 60-minute treatment uses the healing vibrations of Himalayan singing bowls, placed on and around the body to awaken chakra points. The sound therapy is followed by a marma point body and facial massage using ayurvedic plant extracts.

HydraFacial

This 60-minute facial deeply cleanses the skin with hydra-dermabrasion and a gentle peel, designed to enhance skin texture and radiance.
