London’s The Goring Hotel closed Tuesday, Jan. 27, for the first time in its nearly 105-year history, before reopening on Feb. 21, to unveil the finishing touches of its top-to-toe designer renovation. The only 5-star hotel in London owned and run by the same family who built it, The Goring remained opened through both World Wars and is the only hotel in the world to boast a Royal Warrant from The Queen.
Upon re-opening, just in time for its 105th birthday celebrations, guests will welcome the arrival of footmen to cater to their needs. Four major English interior designers are involved with the transformations, which include a glamorous new look for the Front Hall — Nina Campbell, updating suites; Tim Gosling, on The Bar & Lounge, The Terrace and suites; David Linley, in The Dining Room; and Russell Sage, working on rooms, suites and the Royal Suite.
The new Front Hall will feature a specially designed reception desk. Gainsborough Silk will adorn the windows and the men’s restroom will be refitted in black and white marble.

Sep 30, 2026Review: Sushi by Scratch at Grand Hyatt Deer Valley
Husband-and-wife team Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee made their mark by reinventing the term “hidden gem” through their surprising and intentional collection of destination restaurants. Even at a time when the San Fernando Valley was not known for innovative 5-star dining, the Lees’ concepts gathered such a strong buzz that discerning diners cheerfully followed them “over the hill.”
