The Farm & Fisherman Tavern & Market Review

My husband and I enjoyed an impromptu Saturday dinner at The Farm & Fisherman Tavern & Market. Located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, the restaurant specializes in seasonal farm-to-table dining. There is a second location in Horsham, Pennsylvania.

We arrived right around 5 p.m. and didn’t have reservations. There was a 30–45-minute wait for a table, but plenty of space at the bar. We made our way to the bar, which serves the full dinner menu.

The friendly bartender greeted us and asked if this was our first time dining at Farm & Fisherman. We told him it was and he described the menu and the restaurant’s farm-to-table process. Next, he went over the food and drink specials. I order a glass of rosé from the wine specials and my husband opted for an Old Fashioned. To start, we decided to split grilled barbecue lamb.

As we sipped on our drinks, the bartender brought us an order of the chicken meatballs appetizer on the house. The meatballs were spiced with ginger, garlic and Korean barbecue sauce. It was a pleasantly surprising start. Next, our order of lamb arrived. The tender, grilled lamb sat atop a corn pancake and was topped with herbs and tzatziki. While both were delicious, I slightly favored the meatballs.

For our entrées, my husband ordered grilled swordfish off the specials menu and I had the veal saltimbocca. The thinly sliced veal was topped with local prosciutto then pounded together. Garlic roasted potatoes and broccoli accompanied. I was full from our entrées and wanted to save room for dessert, so I took about half home — I didn’t want any to go to waste!

We ended our meal on a sweet note and split the warm pecan pie dessert topped with vanilla ice cream.

Given the close location to our home, we regret not visiting The Farm & Fisherman Tavern & Market sooner. It’s a great spot for a local, seasonal meal.

Croatia Makes it Easy to Turn a Business Trip into a Family Vacation

Croatian tourism took off in the early 2000s and shows no signs of slowing, thanks in part to its starring role as the unmistakable setting in popular franchises like Game of Thrones and Below Deck Mediterranean. But there’s good reason both Hollywood and tourists keep returning to this small Balkan nation along the Adriatic Sea. Up and down the coast, it’s truly as stunning as it appears on camera, and moments here consistently feel elaborately staged ... but they’re not.
