Opened March 2025, Villatel Orlando Resort is one of Orlando’s newest elevated resorts, but far more unique and private than you’ll find at many other resorts and hotels in the area. The name alone points to an experience beyond your typical hotel room or suite; here, you have the flexibility to select from a wide range of modern villas, ranging from four to nine bedrooms, as well as a series of Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy units.
Depending on the size of your group, Villatel Orlando Resort has you covered, and even with my group of eight, we had space to spread out, relax and enjoy the resort without feeling like we were on top of each other. I stayed for two nights in Villatel Orlando Resort’s four-bedroom villa, one of many lining a quiet street. Access to the entire property is secure with a guarded gate and, upon checking in, I received a code by text (which also was my 24/7 line for requests in the villa) granting me access to my specific villa. It was almost too easy, and staff at the gate handed me a folder with a map, further details on the villa and amenities, and a card for access to the gym.
A spacious hallway gives way to an expansive kitchen, dining and living room. The open layout is perfect for groups; the large marble island in the kitchen is great for preparing meals, while a long sectional couch means more than a few guests can stretch out in front of the massive television. A long dining table allows for even more guests to sit and converse. The kitchen also comes equipped with the latest appliances, as well as plates, cookware, utensils and basic cleaning supplies for nights you may want to dine in.
One of the resort’s many shining stars is each villa comes with its own pool. It was still warm when I visited, so we didn’t need to heat the pool (an added fee), but the screened-in amenity was a welcome respite after a day spent at the theme park for our sore and tired legs.
One queen bed and separate full bathroom sat downstairs, while the remaining three bedrooms were on the second floor. I enjoyed the master suite, which boasted a king-sized bed, en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and double vanity, large television, and a separate desk for me to finish up some work. All bathrooms came equipped with towels; a hair dryer; and shampoo, conditioner, body gel and soap.
I also enjoyed the aesthetic of the villa and my room. Think contemporary-meets-Art-Deco style, with geometric gold lines framing the headboard contrasted with dark blue hues, deep yellow curtains and angular lamps. A much-appreciated bonus in each room was the ability to adjust the speed of the ceiling fan, even more welcome when snuggled up in bed.
Another queen-sized bedroom and themed kid’s room (even as an adult, I got a thrill venturing into the room to explore hidden nooks and crannies, take a run down the slide, and play a vintage-style game of Pac-Man) rounds out the guestrooms. In-unit laundry (with detergent and dryer sheets included) and complimentary WiFi was also provided.
Of course, we could have spent the entire time lounging by our own pool and in the spacious living room, but the resort’s own waterpark, pools, and bar and grill were beckoning. In between bouts of rain and storms, we enjoyed lazing in the Grand Resort Pool, sipping on a Hugo Spritz from the nearby bar and munching on chicken quesadillas. Three thrilling waterslides sit at the back of the park, and, even for adults, they are sure to excite (especially the blue one!). There’s also a lazy river for when you simply wish to float, but another incoming storm brought our fun in the sun to an abrupt end.
While I didn’t have enough time to venture to other amenities, Villatel Resort Orlando is also home to pickleball courts, a fitness center, basketball court and a TopGolf Swing Suite.
The resort is ideal for guests of any size and age, but is especially perfect for those coming for Orlando’s theme parks. As was my case, we were in the city for Universal Orlando Resort and 2026 Halloween Horror Nights, and the less-than-10-minute drive to the park was the cherry on top of an exceptional stay.
