The Dean Galway recently opened in the western coastal Irish city, making waves in the hospitality industry. Spanning 5,000 square feet, the property incorporates historic structures of the city, including part of the 19th-century Galway Clifden railway tunnel and a 19th-century stone building.

Designed by Lawrence and Long Architecture, the front of the hotel welcomes visitors with a striking façade built in Irish limestone then finished with an alternating bush-hammered and sand-blasted finish to provide a stark dark and light contrast.

The hotel features 100 comfortable and design-led guestrooms and suites on the upper ground, first and second floors. From rainfall power showers to fully stocked Smeg fridges to smart TVs, each room comes equipped with modern amenities for a relaxing stay. Each room also boasts a box filled with sweet and savory Irish snacks and drinks, a record player and vinyl and luxury Brooks & Co. toiletries.

Indulge in the epitome of luxury in the property’s penthouse, a space sleeping up to eight guests. The penthouse includes a standalone copper bath, spacious living area and private balcony. The Dean Galway also boasts The Blue Room, an event space located on the lower ground floor that overlooks the inner courtyard.

Guests can also enjoy the property’s outdoor heated pool as well as the soon-to-open POWER Gym, a luxury, boutique health club and the first of its kind in Galway City. From world-class fitness experiences to a sauna and steam room, the gym blends the original vaulted brickwork railway tunnel into the layout of the gym.

On the roof of the hotel sits Sophie’s Rooftop Restaurant and Terrace, offering spacious terraces with gorgeous views of the city. In addition to an awning, heaters and plenty of cozy seating, the restaurant serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The restaurant serves dishes packed with international and Irish flavors for a memorable dining experience.

Williamsburg Inn Review

You don’t have to love brass chandeliers or brocade to appreciate what Williamsburg Inn does best: delivering a polished, unpretentious stay amid America’s most iconic living history museum. This is where you check in for traditional luxury without feeling like you’re trapped in a time capsule. The Queen stayed here (twice), and so did Eisenhower, but you’re not here to make history. You’re here to enjoy it, on your own terms.
