Austrian Airlines’ new long-haul catering concept, Tastefully Austrian, is now in flight. The expanded culinary offering includes a unique presentation of food and beverages with distinctive features like Viennese coffee house service onboard.
“We aim to provide our guests with a flying piece of Austria — a culinary experience the Austrian way. Our goal is to highlight Austrian hospitality and cuisine and to offer our guests an individual experience,” explained Michael Trestl, CCO, Austrian Airlines.
Travelers have more custom options and flexibility to adapt onboard meals to their personal preferences, and this follows the reintroduction of the airline’s Flying Chef program last April. New highlights for business-class passengers include a bar snack with a welcome drink, the addition of a soup choice, two international main courses and an Austrian signature dish, a cheese trolley and the aforementioned Viennese coffee house service. Premium economy and economy classes will see new recipes and creations offered in either three- or four-course menus with two main course options. For all classes, a light dish or small breakfast will be served.
“We are proud to return to our former strength with our new long-haul concept and to bring Austrian culinary excellence to our passengers at the highest level,” concluded Trestl.
