Kimpton’s EPIC Hotel in downtown Miami introduced a new amenity to its full slate of distinctive meeting offerings that includes inspired spaces, a dedicated team of meeting and event planners, chef-driven menus, state-of-the-art equipment and perks like yacht excursions. The hotel now offers groups a mid-afternoon perk-me-up treat in the form of a Cuban colada, a traditional afternoon beverage enjoyed by Cubans for decades and adopted by Miamians who share in the love of all things gastronomically Cuban. Offered Monday–Friday in the meeting space foyer on the 14^th floor from 3:05–3:20 p.m., the complimentary espresso shot is made with finely ground coffee and sugar, stirred to create a distinctive layer of foam known as espumita that sits on top of the java.

“The Cuban experience of enjoying an afternoon espresso has always been a highly social experience shared by groups,” said Eric Jellson, area director of sales and marketing, EPIC. “In fact, on any given afternoon at local Cuban restaurants in Miami, you can see a gathering of relatives, old friends and a who’s who of locals enjoying a colado or cafecito.
